As part of World Environment Day 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, a surprise mapping projection took place on the iconic Gómez Building in downtown Mendoza. The intervention aimed to engage the public through audiovisual and narrative language, inviting reflection on our relationship with nature and with one another in a time of global isolation.
The luminous spectacle transformed the building’s façade into a living canvas that captivated passersby and neighbors, who watched from balconies and rooftops as light, sound, and poetry intertwined in an unexpected moment of collective experience.
Break the Loop is a transmedia and multidisciplinary project that merges mapping, visual arts, digital art, music, and spoken word. The work questions the dynamics of life before and after the coronavirus, explores social and emotional mutations, and reimagines humanity as part of a whole where nature and the collective prevail over the individual.
Through an immersive audiovisual narrative, the piece reflects the emotions, routines, and transformations that emerged during lockdown. Break the Loop invites us to open new cycles, reconnect with what is essential, and create a new loop—one that is more conscious, compassionate, and human.
